MEET Andrea

December 2019 I was photographing Allie and Jake’s Winter Wonderland Wedding at Holly Hills Country Club in Maryland. Their wedding day was filled with glitter, dreamy candle light, and lots of dancing!

Allie’s shoes were some of her favorite details with all the sparkles they had! And I am so glad that the bridal party was willing and able to brave the cold for photos!

Allie and Jake opted to have a first look so we could capture their bridal party portraits, bride and groom photos and family formals, all before the ceremony! With winter weddings it is important to know when the sun sets and Allie knew she wanted natural light photos so we organized her timeline to do just that!

Not only did Allie have a first look with her groom, but she also had one with her dad! Cue the happy tears!

Allie said: “Our ceremony was very relaxed but traditional. We kept the room pretty dark and had gorgeous candles around the fireplace to create a romantic look. Our officiant was a family friend who knew how to keep everyone laughing.”

With their wedding taking place in December, Allie and Jake chose to lean into the holiday theme. “We were going for a formal Christmas-filled wedding. We told guests to wear Christmas ties because there would be some Christmas music and Christmas trees.”

There were some birthday guests in attendance, so during the reception slices of cake with candles were specially cut for those sharing their celebrations with the bride and groom!

I have loved being able to keep in touch with Allie and Jake on social media and anytime I see anything glitter, I instantly think of Allie. She leaves a little sparkle where ever she goes!

Allie’s review about Andrea Cooper with Andrea Cooper Photography

“I bombarded her with a million questions and recommendations before the wedding. She was always patient and happy to help. She seriously is there for anything you might need. Lip gloss, she’s got it. Bobby-pins, they’re in her pocket. She’ll be your number one hype girl…She definitely made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. She also listened to everything that we wanted. Our wedding guests loved her, too! We got so many compliments about our photographer. We love, love, love all of our photos and couldn’t be happier. I cannot recommend her enough!”

How He Asked:

Jake had his proposal plans to Allie, who he met through mutual friends in 2016, all figured out- he would propose on a family trip to Siesta Key, Florida. “But Jake got impatient and ended up proposing in our kitchen a few days before we left. Even though my nails weren’t done and no one was there to take pictures, it was still perfect. It was sweet because he was so excited.”
