During my time as a wedding photographer, I’ve shot in so many different venues throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland. Today, I’m focusing on my favorite West Virginia wedding venues! Every venue has its own challenges and beauty, and I just love that I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many different locations.
Crystalline Events
Crystalline Events has a beautiful all-white interior. It’s in Fairmont, and it was originally designed as a church. They’ve worked to keep much of the original design, so it has tall ceilings and gorgeous wooden beams. You can really make this space your own. Plus, it’s perfect for winter weddings because we can capture most of the images indoors due to the wonderful natural light and white walls!
Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place Hotel
This Marriot has a large ballroom and plenty of room to dance and have fun with your guests. In the spring and summer, we can walk outside to the pathway they have along the canal. You can get photos with lots of greenery on either side! It’s always fun shooting weddings here!
Highgate Carriage House
This is another Fairmont venue, and it’s such an architectural gem. Highgate Carriage House has stunning gardens surrounding a fountain, and a Tudor Revival Style building. The estate has been around since 1908 making it both beautiful and historical. Plus, there’s this brick staircase in the outdoor ceremony location that makes this place a whimsical dream for photographers!
Athena Farm and Vineyard
I’ve got a June wedding planned at this West Virginia wedding venue, and I am elated! Their land looks incredibly gorgeous. The Athena Farm and Vineyard is in Southern West Virginia, and it’s surrounded by hills and wildflowers. You can even stomp your own grapes and bottle your own honey here!
Pete Dye Golf Club
The Pete Dye Golf Club is in Bridgeport, and I just love it. I have photographed weddings at this West Virginia wedding venue both in the summer and in the winter. Whether you are having a tent reception on the property or keeping the party within their ballroom, this space is stunning. It truly has so much variety in terms of where to capture your photos! Their set location for the ceremony has truly breathtaking views. It’s perfect for engagement sessions too!
Stone House Lavender Farm and Barn
This gorgeous white barn with its rows of lavender is a showstopper for sure! Not to mention, the owners are seriously the sweetest. Stone House is a newer wedding venue in the area, and I cannot wait to photograph at it! The large reception space and soon-to-be outdoor ceremony patio are so stunning. There are a fair amount of barns in West Virginia, but this barn’s white interior and exterior make it stand out.
The Blennerhassett Hotel
This gorgeous West Virginia wedding venue has elegance and vintage flair. The Blennerhassett Hotel is more than a century old, and I just love the style. One of my favorite things to do is show off the signature awning on the hotel. I may have to stop traffic to capture your bridal party in front of the hotel, just like I did for Rachel and Daniel, but it’s so worth it!
The Erickson Alumni Center of WVU
The Erickson Alumni Center is in Morgantown, near the Appalachian Mountains. Personally, I absolutely love their ballroom and the exceptionally stunning courtyard. It’s such a gorgeous location for an outdoor ceremony. The courtyard fireplace has to be my favorite spot for ceremonies!
Bridgeport Conference Center
Right in my hometown, Charles Pointe, the Bridgeport Conference Center has a grand ballroom and can fit a large number of guests. There are ample locations to capture outside and around the area that have tons of greenery. Not only is there a grand ballroom, elegant lobby with vaulted ceilings, and natural light, but it has a landscaped patio and courtyard area. You really can’t go wrong when you choose this space.
Bethany College
This space is so lovely and with my past clients, it also held true sentimental value! Bethany College is a historic location as well, so the architecture of this college town is just wonderful. The photo opportunities are just endless!
These are just some of my favorite West Virginia wedding venues, but I also love shooting at new locations! There are still some places in West Virginia that I would love to work at one day! Williams Golf and Country Club has breathtaking views and a classic white ballroom. I’ve visited Greenbrier Resort with family several times and shooting a wedding there would be a dream! Overall, regardless of your wedding venue, I would love the opportunity to work there. Reach out to me because I’m always up for something exciting!
