Carolyn and Ryan’s wedding in Summersville was so exciting to shoot! These two love birds said their I-dos with a beautiful lake back-drop at Summersville Lake and then celebrated with their friends and family underneath an elegant white tent on the campgrounds of Country Road Cabins. Both Carolyn and Ryan are really into nature & wildlife.. especially birding, so this venue made perfect sense for them!

Their love story began when they were in college. They are both from Nicholas County but went to rival high schools. They were friends first for years, but there was always a spark there. He lived in Richmond for a year, but when he moved back to Morgantown they started dating pretty much instantly.

Lakeside Fall Wedding in Summersville

The wedding day was filled with sentimental touches and plenty of nods to their love for nature! Mountain Lake Campground has cozy cabins on-site, so you can easily get ready there! Carolyn got ready in one of the cabins, so she was steps away from her first look site.

There were so many beautiful touches of blue for this wedding. Carolyn wore blue ombre heels covered in glitter. For her hair, she chose a blue and gold floral comb. Their wedding invitations featured watercolor flowers, with a handprinted bird. It was a subtle nod to this couple’s love of bird watching. Her something blue continued into her bouquet, which featured white roses, eucalyptus, and blue thistle.

Her bridesmaids each wore a different style of gown, in shades of blue, her maid of honor wore velvet, while the other ladies wore chiffon. I love that she didn’t just have different shades of bridesmaids’ dresses, but fabrics! Instead of traditional bouquets, they carried gold hoops with draping flowers.

The couple said their vows overlooking Summersville Lake. They chose to plant a tree together so they have something to treasure! The day continued and the couple was surrounded by love from their family and friends which was so incredible to capture on camera.
