Katie and Anthony met at a Halloween party in 2016. Anthony was dressed up as Richard Simmons, and Katie was a vampire. Katie turned him down when he asked her out at the end of the night, but she did give him her number. They ended up on a date a week later, and now they’re having their Morgantown engagement session! I met Katie in college, and I’m so glad I get to photograph her and Anthony. Katie and I had an art history class together in college, and we were even in the same group to tour around Europe for 30 days! So we have so many memories together.

Romantic First Date

Katie’s favorite date is actually their first date. They met outside the Mecklenburg Inn in Shepherdstown. However, Katie had just turned twenty, so she couldn’t get in. She thought Anthony was going to ditch her, but they walked around town instead. She enjoyed getting to know him, and they ended the night by looking at stars while sitting on the bed of his truck. He even gave her his jacket when she got cold. They ended up dancing and having their first kiss in the street!

Morgantown Engagement Session

For their engagement session, we spent some time in Morgantown. My absolute favorite pictures are the ones under the willow tree! The crazy part is that we almost didn’t even go there. I warned them that it might be too bright for pictures down by the lake, but luckily, we did go! In my head, I’m crossing my fingers that the willow tree will look good. I didn’t even tell Katie about the willow tree because I didn’t want to get her hopes up. But the willow tree looked amazing, and she was so excited to get some photos under it! We got the most romantic shots there.

Engagement sessions are always a blast because I get to have fun taking photos and getting to know the couples I’m working with.
