Emily and Dalton actually eloped last year. Since Dalton is military, they got married, so that Emily could move in with him once she had graduated. They got engaged while Dalton was stationed in England, and she went to go visit him. Before seeing Les Misérables on stage, they went to grab a drink. After a long discussion about their future adventures, Dalton said, “I can’t wait to have it all with you by my side.” Then, he got down on one knee! They’re such a cute couple. They decided they wanted to do an outdoor engagement session too, which I was all for!

Outdoor Engagement Session

It ended up being such a perfect day for an outdoor photoshoot! The lighting really worked, which is so crucial for an outdoor engagement session. We got some great shots of them walking around the field and among the trees. Friendship Hill National Historic Site made for the perfect backdrop, I loved all the architecture from the building, But my favorite shots are them with their dog!

I absolutely love dogs, so it’s a lot of fun to do photoshoots with them. Before the photoshoot, I warned them that I would do whatever it takes to their dog’s attention. I’ve got no problem making funny noises or tempting them with treats and toys. It’s worth it to get those adorable shots. Emily and Dalton suggested asking their Australian shepherd questions to get her to tilt her head. We got some absolutely adorable photos of them with their sweet pup. The ones where she’s looking right at the camera are so cute!

Emily and Dalton are getting married at the Clarion Inn in Harper’s Ferry in September, and I’m so excited! Can’t wait to celebrate with them soon! I love meeting and working with new couples. Reach out to me, so we can schedule a time to talk!
